Name recognition for a brand no one was familiar with?

My idea.

We created the Chief Idea Officer to emphasize Midea's value proposition: we make the most creative and innovative products. 

We started with a video campaign and a New York City takeover, because with a historic heatwave predicted for the summer, we knew NYers would be in desperate need of a high quality window unit.

With huge goals of showcasing and explaining an entire suite of products in just 60 seconds, we focused on the family grump: not excited for the festivities, looking for every opportunity to democratize their misery.
